Gunmen have abducted Father of the Speaker, Zamfara State House of Assembly Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, and four other people in Magarya village, Zurmi local government area.

According to a source, the Kidnappers invaded the Village which had been experiencing series of attacks from gunmen.

The heavily armed gunmen abducted the Speaker’s father, his Wife alongside 5 members of the family and took them to an unknown destination.

Radio Nigeria in Gusau gathered that, the gunmen earlier launched attacks on 4 villages in Zurmi local government area and abducted unspecified number of commuters along Shinkafi-Kaura Namoda Road on the same day.

Spokesperson of the Zamfara State Police Command, Superintendent Shehu Mohammed confirmed the abduction to newsmen.

He said the command had deployed additional troops to the affected area to ensure safe return of the victims.

Also the Director General Media and Communication of the House confirmed the incident to Radio Nigeria Correspondent in Gusau.

The Command therefore urged members of the public to support security agencies with intelligent information.
