Ten out of the fifty six boarding secondary schools in areas prone to incessant bandits attacks in Niger state have been closed.

Commissioner of Education Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna.

Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu said SS3 students of affected schools have been moved to alternative schools to write their SSCE examinations.

According to her, twenty five other boarding schools in those areas are still in operation.

Hajiya Hannatu Jibrin Salihu explained that Niger state government will review the risk assessment to consider next line of action towards ensuring that teachers and students are adequately secured.

She however reaffirmed the commitment of Niger state government in doing everything possible to safeguard lives and property of citizens.
