The Chairman Northern Speakers, Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani has expressed deep sadness over the demise of His Royal Highness, Dr Danjuma Barde the Etsu Chikun, popularly known as SA Gbagyi 1.
A statement signed by his SA Media and Publicity, Honourable Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, dated Wednesday July 21, 2021, said the first class traditional ruler died in the early hours of same day.
It explained that during a condolence visit to the late traditional ruler’s palace, he consoled the traditional council, his family, friends and the government and people of Kaduna State.
“I am deeply saddened by the demise of the Etsu Chikun who has provided exemplary leadership and worked with dedication to promote integration among the diverse population of the Chiefdom,” Zailani said.
He explained that the elevation of HRH Dr Danjuma Barde to first class status was announced in November 2018, in recognition of his contribution to peace and harmony.
“He was once a member of Kaduna State House of Assembly during former governor Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi’s administration,” the statement added.
The Speaker prayed for the repose of his soul.
