Jigawa State Government says President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of Federal University of Technology at Babura in Jigawa State.

This was contained in a statement signed and made available to Radio Nigeria in Dutse by Special Adviser to Governor Badaru Abubakar on Media, Alhaji Habibu Nuhu Kila.

The statement explained that, in a letter sent to the Jigawa State Governor Badaru Abubakar which was signed by the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu has requested for a provision of at least two alternate sites within Babura with a minimum land area of 100 hectares.

Habibu Kila said the sites should be adequately linked to essential infrastructure, such as access road,national power grid and proximity to source of water.

He further explained that in the meantime, Technical team comprising officials from the Ministry of Education, National University Commission and other stakeholders will be visiting the state for on the spot assessment and consultation with the Jigawa state officials to facilitate speedy implementation of Federal University of Technology FUT Babura.
