The primary healthcare coordinator of Gwale local government area, Malam Idris Alkasim says about 147,964 children are targeted for June round of the immunization plus days.

Malam Idris stated this while briefing journalists against polio who visited the area to monitor the conduct of the exercise.

He explained that, the June exercise was successful and hitch free except for parents who demanded for the usual soap and sweets recieved after their wards have been immunized.

The coordinator charged parents and guardians to compliment governments efforts by presenting their kids during the vaccination period.

Some of the parents who spoke to Journalists against polio, Sadiya Usman and Raliya Faruk, expressed their commitment and satisfaction with the exercise while expressing concern over how the pluses distribution was stopped.

They lamented that the gifts given to the children motivate and encourage both the parents and wards to recieve the vaccine.

Reports indicate that, there was a large turn out of parents and wards to recieve the immunization especially on the first day where a rally was organized to create awareness using local musicians to entertain and enlighten the public about the dangers associated with poliomyelitis on young children.
