As measures to avert the recurrence of attack on schools in Kebbi State, the state ministry of education has temporarily closed down five secondary schools in Yauri and Zuru emirates.

State Commissioner for Education, Alhaji Muhammadu Magawata Aleiro disclosed this in a phone interview to Radio Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi.

Before the attack on Federal Government College Birnin Yauri, we held a meeting at the office of Commissioner for local government with the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Security and local government council Chairmen in respect of security measures to be put in place in schools particularly in the Southern zone of the state where there was breach of security.

The Commissioner told Radio Nigeria that, the schools that were temporarily closed down are those from Birnin Yauri to Rijau junction and one girls school in Yauri town.

According to him, government has directed parents to report any uncomfortable movement in schools of their children for immediate action to schools management committee of their areas.

The Commissioner revealed that, most schools in the state are now secured with vigilantees to provide security.
