Jigawa State Independent Electoral Commission JISIEC has fixed 26th of June this year for the conduct of Local Government elections.

The Acting Chairman of the commission, Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Roni disclosed this at the opening of the stakeholders meeting in Dutse.

Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Roni explained that the commission had concluded necessary arrangements to conduct the elections in accordance with it’s mandates under sections 10(1) and 64(1) of JISIEC law.

He announced that sales of nomination forms would commence, 12th and ends 26th of next month.

According to him, clarification and verification of candidates are slated for 13th to 27th of May, respectively.

Alhaji Adamu Roni said the commission was mandated by law to create a level playing ground for political parties and candidates that wish to participate in the elections.
