Civil Society Scaling Up Nutrition in Nigeria CS-SUNN, says it is working to ensure improvement of food security and Nutrition Intervention in the country.

The Coordinator CS-SUNN, Kaduna state chapter Ms Jessica Bathelomew made this known at a quarterly media round table on Infant and Young Child Feeding IYCF in kaduna.

Accordin to her, the purpose of the event is for the Media to have knowledge of what the organisation is doing and report effectively to the public.

Miss Jessica Bathelomew said CS-SUNN had been working in Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Igabi, Chikun and Kajuru LGAs on Nutrition, Advocacy, Town hall meeting, Nutrition Club and Household activities to educate young lactating and pregnant mothers from becoming malnourished.

Speaking, the Secretary Kaduna state chapter Mr Daniel Akpan explained that the organisation was also engaging community leaders, lactating pregnant mothers and young girls towards improving their nutritional value by using preventive and other curative techniques.

He said with the establishment of Nutrition club, they were able to reached out to about 66 young children on Nutrition Activities, Water Sanitation and Hygiene practices and also improve their behavioral attitudes,

The Secretary commended efforts and contributions of the LGA’s and Focal persons and the support given by Government at all time.
