Kaduna State Government says plan to establish position of permanent secretary at each of the local government areas across the state is underway.

Chairman local government service board, Professor Amimu ladan sharehu disclosed this in Zaria during the monitoring of promotion examination conducted for local government service staff.

Professor Aminu Ladan Sharehu explained that the bill was already undergoing the legislative process, and the state House of Assembly had commenced reading it.

The Chairman pointed out that the House of Assembly under the leadership of Yusuf liman would soon complete the deliberation.

He added that the position of permanent secretary at the local government would motivate the local government staff to face global challenges and to reach higher level in the civil service.

The Chairman said the board would also embark on routine visits to each of the local governments to hear their complaints and observations.

Speaking on the promotion exams, professor Aminu ladan sharehu explained that over seven hundred local government workers sat for the promotion exams.

He mentioned that the examination was conducted at the three senatorial zone in the state.

Professor Aminu ladan sharehu charged the local government workers to work hard in the course of their duties.
