Zamfara State Assembly has expressed worry over reoccurring banditry in parts of the state which has claimed many lives and destroyed property worth millions of naira.

The speaker, Alhaji Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya made stated this while briefing newsmen shortly after a close door meeting with local government chief executives in Gusau.

Alhaji Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya said the leadership of the House was deeply concerned over security situation bedeviling the state, hence the need to find lasting solution to such incidents.

He explained that, the meeting had now given them an opportunity to interact with other security stakeholders as well as ‘yan Sakai ‘ and non-governmental organizations aimed at finding a lasting solution to all forms of criminalities in the state.

The Speaker also called on president Muhammadu Buhari and security chiefs to immediately take necessary actions to address the challenges facing zamfara and other states of the federations.

Earlier, the ALGON Chairman who is also the sole Administrator of Birnin magaji local govt , Alhaji Muhammad Umar represented by his deputy Salisu isah told the Assembly that, the councils were committed at ensuring peace and stability in their domain.

According to him, the meeting emphasized good governance at local government level as well as political development of their respective councils.
