The senate has confirmed the presidential nominee for appointment as chairman Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu for the second term of five years.
The confirmation came after the chairman senate committee on INEC, Senator Kabir Ibrahim Gaya presented the report of the committee after screening the nominee for confirmation.
It may be recalled that Professor Yakubu had been the chairman in the last five years after completing his tenure, President Muhammadu Buhari re-selected him for the second term.
The Senate after deliberation confirmed Professor Yakubu for reappointment as the chairman Independent National Electoral Commission-INEC.
