The National Association of Katsina State Students, Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter has presented an award of excellence to Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara for his contribution toward the development of the association.
The National President of the Association, Comrade Ahmad Saulawa during the award presentation at Kanwan Katsina palace, said the award represent his service to humanity particularly the students.
The President of the Association Comrade Ahmad Saulawa a final year student of the Kaduna Polytechnic informed the awardee that the award is on merit considering the contribution and support for the development of the Association.
He said the association also passed a vote of confidence on the traditional leader Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara, describing him as an achiever and patriotic citizen whose impact was felt across board without any form of bias.
“On behalf of the National Association of Katsina State Students, Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter, I present to you this award base on your performance and particularly service to humanity, Without doubt, you’ve always distinguished yourself in all your assignment and we’re proud of you, wherever you found yourself you always make a difference.
The National President Comrade Ahmed Saulawa commended the Kanwan Katsina, Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara for his support and fatherly role and pray for more higher national assignments”.
In his remarks the Kanwan Katsina District Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara urged the students to shun drug abuse, cultism and associating with bad friends who may influence them into bad habits that will distract them in their education.
He further urged them to take their education serious describing education as the bedrock of the society.
The traditional ruler informed the students body that after graduation from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria he joined the Nigeria Customs Service and rose steadily to the rank of Comptroller of Customs and headed so many commands formations and units and attributed this achievement to the education he attained.
The Kanwan Katsina while receiving the award recalled with nostalgia his students Union activities in his university days when he served as the Secretary General of the Kaduna State Students Union of the Ahmadu Bello University and urged the exco members to ensure unity among the students.
The traditional ruler informed the students that the award will motivate him to work harder for his communities in Ketare district by ensuring more development in the district
He also assured the students of his continued support at all times.
During the event, the Association present some copies of the Association magazine to the monarch.
