Group Provides Free Oral Care To 5000 Patients In Kano

A non governmental organization Grassroot Root Smile Initiative in conjunction with a commercial bank has provided free oral services to over five thousand people in Kano State.

Speaking during the grand finale of the services at Government General Hospital Fagge local government area of the state, Chief Executive Officer of the NGO Professor Ade Adebola said the gesture was aimed at providing oral health outreach to the public .

He said the group with the support of the commercial bank had conducted oral health services at six local government areas of Kano north senatorial district, which includes Nassarawa, Tarauni, Gwale, Municipal, and Fagge local government.

“We are rendering services in oral health, and I want people to know that oral health is not just about teeth but general health, what we are providing is preventive, promotional, and curative services for people who cannot afford and people who do not have access to oral health care in the community”

Professor Ade Adebola said over five thousand people from the six local government areas has benefited from the gesture.

In her remark, the representative of the Bank Fumilayo Eyusuile said the support was part of their social corporate responsibility.

She said similar gestures were being provided in different parts of the country, saying it is a way of giving back to society.

Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to journalists commended the NGO and the Bank and urged philanthropists and other groups to emulate the gesture.
