KDSG Launches E-learning Portal To Advance Education

Kaduna State Government has officially launchlaunched an e-learning portal known as Nigeria Learning Passport to make learning affordable and easy to access for both primary, secondary and the general public.

Launching the portal in Kaduna, the State Commissioner for Education Hajiya Halima Lawal said the gesture was in line with global best practices in technological advancement in efforts to solve challenges in the educational sector.

She stated that government had earlier distributed eight hundred desktops to various schools and seven thousand ICT Tablets to advance the policy for effective take off of the policy.

Hajiya Halima Lawal noted that the state has also implemented twenty seven Percent budgetary allocation in the education sector which is above the UNESCO benchmark of twenty five percent to advance education.

According to her, the state government was collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Education, Microsoft, and UNICEF for success of its policies and therefore called on parents to support government efforts.

In a remark, representative of UNICEF at the event, Mr. Francis Elisha commended government for adopting the policy which he said would enable students both at Rural and urban areas to study online and offline without much stress.

Mr. Elisha noted that there was already established partnership with a Telecommunication provider in the country for the policy to succeed.
