Kaduna Aircraft Crash : CAS Constitutes Accident Investigation Board

Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Oladayo Amao says the Nigerian Airforce will ensure it thoroughly investigate the cause of the super mushak trainer aircraft crash that occurred yesterday at the NAF base Kaduna.

In a statement by spokesperson of the force, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Air Chief made the pledge when he visited families of the deceased two pilots-Flight Lieutenant Abubakar Muhammed Alkali and Flight Lieutenant Elijah Haruna Karatu who lost their lives in the tragic accident, in Kaduna.

The statement explained that the Air Chief had constituted an Accident Investigation Board upon receiving the news of the crash to determine the immediate and remote cause of the crash.

Air Marshal Oladayo Amao assured officers, airmen and airwomen of 401 training school Kaduna, that all measures would be emplaced to avert similar occurrence in future.

He reminded them on the need to remain steadfast and focused on their assigned roles and responsibilities in view of the onerous task before the NAF and other security agencies to rid the North-West and Nigeria of all criminal elements.

The statement described the unfortunate incident of the aircraft crash as yet again another tragic reminder of the perilous nature of the military flying profession as well as the risks NAF pilots continually take daily to secure Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
