PMB Receives Briefing From Service Chiefs Over Kaduna Train Incident

President Muhammadu Buhari has received briefing from Security Chiefs, led by the Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor at the Presidential Villa Abuja

The Security Chiefs, who had earlier visited the scene of the attack on a train in Kaduna, arrived at the Presidential Villa around 3 Pm.

They briefed the President on their on the spot assessment of the unfortunate incident that happened on Monday night.

Addressing State House Correspondents shortly after their closed door meeting with the Nigerian leader, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Irabor said they came to brief the President regarding the unfortunate incident , where some criminal bandits had gone to lay improvised explosive devices on the rail tracks and a passenger train was demobilised and seven Nigerians killed, 29 others wounded and some unspecified numbers were kidnapped.

He said they went and inspected the entire area and gave out instructions on what is to be done.

The Defence Chief said security agencies will build on the lessons they have learnt from the latest incident.

He assured Nigerians that the military and other security agencies will not rest on their oars until everywhere is secured.

According to him the challenge of insecurity is a constant one and so the defence and security agencies need to be on their toes 24/7.

Irabor stated that they will take every necessary action, not just to apprehend those behind this dastardly act are not just apprehended but for them to also face justice.
