Jigawa state government says it has so far verified pensioners in 15 out of the 27 local government areas of the state.
The Executive Secretary of the state and local government contributory pension scheme, Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa stated this while monitoring the exercise in Gumel local government area of the state.
According to him, over seven thousand pensioners were verified at the ongoing verification exercise in the state.
He said the board had verified over seven thousand state, local government and local education pensioners in fifteen local government areas of the state.
Alhaji Kamilu Aliyu Musa pointed out that, the verified pensioners were from Birnin Kudu, Buji, Gwaram , Miga, Jahun and Kafin Hausa.
Others also include Guri, Kirikasamma, Birniwa, Hadejia, Mallam Madori, Gagarawa and Gumel local government areas.
Some of the verified pensioners who spoke to Radio Nigeria commended the state government for the smooth conduct of the exercise.
