Stakeholders Proffer Ways To Achieving Clean Energy

Stakeholders in the renewable energy and energy efficiency alliance have called on the federal government to work out modalities in achieving clean energy by the year 2060.

This and other resolutions formed part of the stakeholders’ communique at the end of a two-day national conference on renewable energy and energy efficiency alliance in Abuja.

The Communique signed by the Chairman, Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Association-Alliance (REEEA-A) Dr. Immamuddeen Talba noted the important role to be played by youths and women in value chain energy transmission, the role of research in energy transmission and production, and the channeling of fossil fuels to industries as raw materials.

Dr. Immamuddeen Talba maintained that renewable energy was the way to go in achieving affordable electricity to Nigerians while stressing that the federal government target of energy mix come 2030 is achievable.

He regretted the lack of data in tracking the production of energy and commended the initiative of the federal government on electrifying five million homes in the country.
