Jigawa Executive Council Approves Over N1.9B For Education Sector

Jigawa state executive council has approved the award of contracts of over 1.9 Billion naira to the state ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

The state Commissioner of Information, youths, sports and culture, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim Mamser disclosed this shortly after the state executive council meeting held at government House Dutse.

According to him, over 119 Million naira was also approved for the state agency for Nomadic Education to Execute various number of projects across the State.

He said the sum of almost 500 Million naira was also approved for the construction of 13 blocks of 6 seater pit latrines and 11 hand pumps at Islamic education bureau schools across the state, general renovation of some schools, construction of wall fence and Kitchen block at Government Arabic Secondary School Kaugama and Government Girl’s Arabic Secondary School Danzomo.

Alhaji Bala Ibrahim pointed out that, the council also approved construction of 3 blocks classroom at Government Day Arabic Secondary School Kiri, Harbo and Maje.

He said the executive council approved over 437 million naira contract for the supply of 2,238 pieces of furniture for early child development education.

Others also include 5,874 set of Primary 1 to 3 furnitures, 5,874 sets of Primary 4  to 6 and supply of 5,874 sets of junior secondary school classroom furnitures to be completed within the period of 14 weeks.

The Commissioner also said the executive council also approved the release of the sum of over 159 Million naira for the completion of constituency projects awarded to various Companies across the state.

Radio Nigeria reports that the council meeting was presided over by Governor Badaru Abubakar.
