The Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba has charged officer and men of Nigeria Police to exhibit high sense of professionalism and shun all forms of abuse of Law .

IPG Usman Alkali stated while addressing officers and men of Kano Command of the Nigerian Police Force at its headquarters in Kano.

He described Kano as one of the strategic Commands in the Country given its high population and commercial activities.

The Inspector General said the Nigerian Police under his stewardship was working tirelessly in ensuring that all needed working materials and ammunitions were provided to police formations nationwide aimed at ensuring security of lives and property.

” I’m using this avenue to call on divisional police officers to be organizing lectures and trainings to police working under their formations ,this would boost their morale and dedication “

” We are working towards ensuring that all rank and files personnel of Nigerian police are being issued with uniforms free of charge, but you should take note that you have to make sacrifices to improve your job and improve your self”

He appreciated the Government and people of Kano state for their endless support to the Command.

Usman Alkali urged officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to remains steadfast in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

Earlier, Kano State Commissioner of Police S ama’ila Shuaibu Dikko who described the State as cosmopolitan disclosed that the Command has over seven thousand personnel providing security to over fifteen million people.

Sama’ila Shuaibu Dikko explained that the command runs an open door approach with the community in gathering information geared towards ensuring public safety.

He lamented the inadequacy of operational vehicle and manpower,saying the Command needed additional Arms And Ammunition to tackle numerous challenges.

“We have achieved a lot since my Assumption as the Commissioner of Police in Kano,we’ve arrested Boko Haram suspects, kidnappers , thugs ( popularly known as ‘yan daba in different parts of the state”

CP Isma’il Shuaibu Dikko praised the support and cooperation of the Kano state Government and other security to the police which he explained as the secret behind peace and harmony being experienced in the state.
