Federal Government plans to launch the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health sector response action plan.
Minister of Health Dr Osagie Ehanire, stated this in Abuja, at the Presidential Taskforce (PTF), briefing on COVID-19.
The Minister was of the view that the plan would ensure a new medium and long term response strategy to challenges across all areas of the health sector over the next three years.
He said that the plan would be presented at the National Council of Health and therefore called on states to develop specific action plans to address peculiarities.
Dr Ehanire also said that the Nigerian Government had taken delivery of medical supplies from the UN group and European Union, made up of various categories of testing and protective equipment to address the Covid-19 pandemic.
He confirmed that cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria had surpassed the 20,000 mark and therefore advised hospitals to have the right index substation and promptly refer suspected cases to designated treatment centers.
