The Jigawa State Government has described the construction of a new palace for the Emir of Dutse as a historic milestone for the Dutse Emirate and the state at large.
Governor Umar Namadi stated this in Dutse during the groundbreaking ceremony and foundation-laying for the new palace.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, the governor assured residents of the government’s commitment to quality and standards in delivering the project while offering prayers for continued peace and stability in the Dutse Emirate.
In his remarks, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi, expressed gratitude to the governor describing the occasion as historic.
“I wish the late Emir were here with us today, because he was the one who wished to see this palace built. But nevertheless, Alhamdulillah, today we are here witnessing this occasion,” the Emir said.
Also speaking, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi, noted that the construction of the palace had long been the desire of the Emirate Council, with members making several suggestions toward achieving it.
“It turns out that our great supporter, Governor Umar Namadi, is the one who will build this palace for us,” he said.
The Emir pointed out that the new palace would not belong exclusively to the Emirate, but would serve as a home for all the people of Jigawa State.
“Anyone who comes from any part of the state will be welcomed here as a member of the household,” he added.
He prayed for Governor Namadi and commended Islamic scholars as well as the chairmen of local government areas within the Dutse Emirate for their loyalty and contributions towards the development of the Emirate.
Our Correspondent reports that the Chief Imam of Dutse Central Mosque, Dr. Abubakar Sani Birnin Kudu, led special prayers during the ceremony.

The new palace which will be sited near the Dutse Central Mosque and close to the Federal University Dutse is expected to be completed within 18 months.
Dignitaries at the event included the Mai Tangale, local government chairmen from Dutse, Birnin Kudu, Gwaram, Kiyawa, Miga and Buji LGAs, as well as several government officials and stakeholders.
