The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Zamfara State Chapter, has inaugurated its Contact and Mobilisation Committee as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The committee was inaugurated by the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako, who also presented letters of appointment to its members.
In a statement by the Publicity Secretary of NDC in Zamfara State, Alkasim Mustapha, said the committee comprises experienced professionals, administrators, politicians, media practitioners and community leaders drawn from across the state.
The statement noted that the committee was established to enhance the party’s contact, mobilisation and outreach activities, with a view to expanding its support base across the state.
Members of the committee include Alhaji Aliyu Bello from Maradun, a former Permanent Secretary in the Zamfara State Civil Service; Alhaji Kabiru Garba Kwatarkwashi from Bungudu, a veteran broadcaster and former General Manager of Zamfara State Television; and Dr Ahmad Mailayi from Birnin Magaji, a medical practitioner and healthcare administrator Among others.
The State Chairman charged the committee members to reach out to individuals and groups across Zamfara State irrespective of their political affiliation, social status or level of influence.
He explained that the assignment was aimed at strengthening the party and broadening its support base ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Alhaji Surajo Garba Maikatako assured the committee of his full support and expressed confidence in its ability to successfully execute the assignment.
