Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has organised a refresher course to equip frontline personnel with modern traffic management techniques.

Presenting a goodwill message, the Corps Marshal, Dr. Shehu Muhammad, said the training would enhance the capacity of personnel to reduce road traffic crashes across the country.

The Corps Marshal, who was represented by Assistant Corps Marshal Sunusi Gambarawa, said the refresher course was organised in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda on traffic management.

Dr. Muhammad added that the training attracted FRSC personnel from Zone One, comprising Kaduna, Katsina, Kano and Jigawa states.

He called on participants to uphold lesson leant expressing the Corp’s readiness to train and retrain it’s personnel spread across the country.

Coordinator of the training exercise Assistant Corp Marshall Salisu Umar Galadanchi retired described the initiative as historic and therefore called on participants to seize the opportunity provided to improve service delivery.

He further commended ongoing rehabilitation of the Abuja Kaduna Kano express way, expressing the view that it had minimized road traffic crashes on the corridor.

Some participants spoke to Radio Nigeria on what to expect, following their inclusion in the training exercise.

The two day training exercise is holding concurrently across three centers to instill change in the Corp’s operations which also includes the need for personnel to imbibe humility, compassion and civility while dealing with citizens on roads in the country.
