APC Presidential Primaries, A Sign Of Confidence— Radd

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, former Govenor Ibrahim Shema and an APC stalwart, Dr. Jabiru Tsauri, have predicted an overwhelming victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, judging from the massive turn-out and votes cast for the President in the just-concluded APC presidential primary elections held across the country.

Governor Dikko Radda who said Tinubu had polled 467,003 votes, described the turnout across the 361 wards in Katsina State as a testament to the unflinching support by party members to the President’s second term bid.

“Here in Katsina State, APC members turned out in large numbers to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to clinch the Presidential ticket to run for a second term under the platform of the party.

“What we have seen has given us confidence and strengthened us in the belief that, Godwilling, President Bola Ahmed will win the 2027 election, to return for a second term to steer the affairs of this nation.

“The people of Katsina State are in support of APC and the President. All the noise and negative impressions being created by the opposition do not reflect what is on ground. The support that APC enjoys in this state is an indication of our good chances in the 2027 general elections” Radda said.

Similarly a former governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Shema, said the primary election in the state shows that APC members are solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Shema who co-chairs the APC reconciliation committee in the state said the main concern of the committee is to ensure that aggrieved party members do not defect to opposition parties but remain in the party and work towards its victory in the general elections.

“As we approach the elections, our party is ready to support all our candidates from top to bottom, from the state Houses of Assembly up to the President, and by the grace of God, President Tinubu will still emerge has the next President of Nigeria to serve a second term.

“The primary elections were generally free and fair, without rancour or misgivings among our members, even though there are pockets of issues here and there, but that is human.

“There is no human activity or institution that is a hundred percent. How you go about resolving the issues you have is what is important, at the moment all grievances are being addressed by the committee”, Shema said.

Speaking to Newsmen, the National Coordinator of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), Dr. Jabiru Tsauri, described the massive turnout by APC members to vote for President Tinubu in the party’s direct primaries as a payback for the President’s “proven commitment to the welfare” of Nigerians.
