Governor Dauda Lawal has approved the appointment of two Special Advisers, a Senior Special Assistant, and heads of key government institutions, alongside the constitution of the Governing Board for Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau.

According to the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Malam Abubakar Mohammad Nakwad in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media Suleiman Ahmad Tudu said the appointments are aimed at strengthening government operations, improving policy coordination, and enhancing service delivery across the state.

Those appointed include Naziru Ibrahim as Special Adviser on Strategy and Governance, while Nura Sani Abdullahi has been elevated from Senior Special Assistant to Special Adviser on Political Matters.

Similarly, Zainab Muhammad Hassan has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Zamfara Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (ZAMCHEMA), while Dr. Badamasi Sarkin Kaya Maradun is to serve as Provost of the College of Health Sciences and Technology, Tsafe.

In addition, Namadi Isah Kasuwar Daji has been appointed as Senior Special Assistant on Political Matters.

The Governor has also reconstituted the Governing Board of Ahmed Sani Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, Gusau, in line with Section 6(1) of the law establishing the institution, to ensure effective administration and smooth operations.

The Board will be chaired by a former Vice Chancellor of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Professor Lawal Suleiman Bilbis.

Other members include the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, the Head of Clinical Services and Training, and representatives from the Federal Medical Centre, the Ministry of Health, the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, and the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA).

Additional members are Dr. Sa’ad Idris Dan Isa; Suwaiba Ibrahim, representing women’s interests; Alhaji Mujtaba Isah, mni, a distinguished retired public servant; and two representatives of private medical practitioners. The Director of Administration of the hospital will serve as Secretary of the Board.

Governor Lawal congratulated the appointees and urged them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, integrity, and a commitment to delivering meaningful impact in their respective roles.
