Governor Agbu Kefas has inspected the ongoing 35-kilometre Gembu–Lip Yan road project, a strategic route linking Nigeria to the Cameroon border in Gembu, headquarters of Sardauna Local Government Area.

During the visit, the Governor engaged with contractors on site, evaluating both the pace and quality of the work which he expressed satisfaction with progress so far, noting that the construction aligns with expected standards and timelines.

Kefas commended the Federal Government for initiating the project and extended appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the Minister of Works, for their role in boosting infrastructure development in Taraba State.

He also urged local stakeholders to cooperate with the construction firm to ensure timely completion, also as part of corporate social responsibility, the governor called on the contractors to consider building a school and healthcare centre to support host communities.

Responding on behalf of the company, Resource Manager, Legacy Matthew assured that the road would be completed on or before June 2027, reaffirming the firm’s commitment to quality delivery.

Secretary to the State Government, Chief Gebon Timothy Kataps and the Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Area, also praised the project and pledged continued support.
