A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi, has officially obtained the party’s nomination form to contest the Zamfara North Senatorial seat ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Dr. Shinkafi, popularly known as Wamban Shinkafi, said his decision followed persistent calls from constituents and supporters across the senatorial district, urging him to represent them at the National Assembly.
Addressing party loyalists in Gusau , the Zamfara State Capital, the APC stalwart alleged marginalization of Shinkafi Local Government Area in the distribution of key political positions, including ministerial and senatorial slots.
He stressed that, time had come for the people of the area to secure the Senate seat in the zone, calling on party members and supporters to unite behind his aspiration.
“I deeply appreciate your support, encouragement, and determination. This movement is about ensuring fair representation for our people,” he said.
Dr. Abdullahi Shinkafi urged eligible voters to obtain their APC membership cards, described them as critical tools for participation during the party primaries.
He disclosed that he had paid the required fees for the expression of interest and nomination forms, amounting to 20 millions naira, and would submit the completed documents to the party as scheduled.
The aspirant assured supporters that his candidature would focus on effective representation, infrastructure development, and the proper execution of constituency projects.
“This aspiration is about service, transparency, accountability, equity, and justice. If given the mandate, I will ensure that all constituency funds are judiciously utilized for the benefit of our people,” he added.
Dr. Shinkafi further pledged not to betray the trust reposed in him, expressing confidence that, with unity and determination, victory would be achieved at the polls.
Similarly, thousands of supporters from the zone declared their support for his victory.
