The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has heaped praise on Governor Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna State for his exceptional support and commitment to the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, describing his leadership as the driving force behind the state’s landmark achievements in Hajj management.

This commendation came during a high-level inspection visit by a NAHCON delegation led by the North-West Zonal Commissioner, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman, to the Kaduna State Hajj Transit Camp at Mando on Thursday, as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj operations.

Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman, visibly impressed by the ongoing transformation at the transit camp, specifically lauded Governor Uba Sani for providing the political will and resources that have enabled the Agency to execute large-scale, independent projects unmatched by any other state pilgrims’ agency in Nigeria.

“What we see here in Kaduna is a direct result of purposeful governance. The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, has demonstrated unwavering commitment. His support has empowered the Agency to construct a modern reception hall, an ultra-modern market, an ICT centre, and fully rehabilitate this camp using its own resources,” Sheikh Bin Othman stated.

He urged other state governors to emulate Governor Sani’s model of initiative, dedication, and prudent management, noting that replicating such standards nationwide would significantly enhance the welfare and overall experience of Nigerian pilgrims.

The NAHCON delegation also highlighted the state government’s direct interventions, including the construction of access roads, culverts, and the installation of solar-powered streetlights at the camp, as critical factors that will ensure a seamless and hitch-free Hajj exercise for Kaduna State pilgrims.

Responding on behalf of the Agency, the Administrative Secretary, Malam Baba Rufa’i (representing the Executive Chairman), attributed the remarkable progress to the strong synergy and sustained backing from the Uba Sani administration.

“The Executive Chairman, Malam Salihu S Abubakar, and the entire Agency are profoundly grateful to Governor Uba Sani. His visionary leadership has not only transformed this transit camp but has also set a new benchmark for pilgrims’ welfare in Nigeria. This support is the bedrock of our success,” Rufa’i said.

The visit concluded with the NAHCON team reaffirming Kaduna State’s position as a leading model in Hajj preparation and pilgrims’ welfare administration, with Governor Uba Sani’s enabling environment being cited as the cornerstone of the ongoing reforms.
