The Nigerian Army has commissioned and handed over a Chief of Army Staff Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) project in Palladan, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

 

Representing the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Waidi Shaibu, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Abubakar Sadiq, commended Major General Abubakar Haruna for the successful execution of the project.

 

He described the initiative as a meaningful contribution to community development and a clear demonstration of the Army’s commitment to strengthening civil-military relations.

 

He also applauded members of the host community for their cooperation and active participation. In addition, he encouraged corporate organisations to embrace corporate social responsibility by supporting developmental projects that positively impact local communities.

 

The Army chief further urged the school management to ensure proper maintenance of the newly commissioned facilities, stressing that significant resources had been invested in the project and must be preserved for long-term use.

 

In his remarks, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General M.A. Etsu-Ndagi, explained that the project aligns with the Nigerian Army’s non-kinetic strategy for achieving national security objectives.

 

He noted that the Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation Project is one of the Army’s key initiatives aimed at delivering quick-impact projects in communities across the country.

 

According to him, such projects are designed to provide lasting benefits while promoting community ownership and sustainability after commissioning.

 

He emphasised that public cooperation remains vital to the success of military operations, adding that the Army continues to strengthen collaboration with civil authorities and host communities.

 

He expressed appreciation to the people of Kaduna State for their continued support, particularly in ongoing efforts to combat banditry and other criminal activities.

 

He urged residents to remain committed to partnering with the military and other security agencies to enhance peace, security, and socio-economic development.

 

Major General Abubakar Haruna was also commended for his exemplary leadership and distinguished service.

 

 

The Nigerian Army reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining Special Intervention Civil-Military Cooperation projects nationwide, in line with its command philosophy of building a professional, adaptable, combat-ready, and resilient force capable of fulfilling its constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment.
