Senate President Godswill Akpabio has called on APC governors to strengthen collaboration with state and federal legislators, stressing that the National Assembly remains vital to the success of any democratic system.

He made the call durin the APC NEC meeting held at the state House Abuja.

He noted that unlike authoritarian systems, democracy thrives on consultation and inclusion, urging governors to actively engage members of the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly who, he said, are closest to the grassroots.

Akpabio emphasized that effective governance depends on synergy among the executive, legislature, and judiciary, adding that lawmakers play a critical role in representing the interests of citizens.

He appealed to governors to carry legislators along in policy formulation and implementation to deepen democratic governance and ensure responsive leadership.
