Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has joined the global community to commemorate World Children’s Day 2025, emphasizing the need to give children a stronger voice in shaping their futures.
This year’s theme, “Listen to Children: My Day, My Rights,” developed by UNICEF, highlights the importance of providing children with platforms to express their thoughts, experiences, and aspirations.
In her statement, the First Lady stressed that respecting and protecting children’s rights remain fundamental to building a just and compassionate society. She noted that children are not only the leaders of tomorrow but also active contributors to present-day conversations that influence societal development.
Senator Tinubu called for a renewed national commitment to the welfare of every Nigerian child, urging stakeholders to work together to create a safer, more inclusive, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.
“Let us reaffirm our collective duty to protect and empower every Nigerian child, ensuring that they grow up with hope, confidence, and the freedom to reach their full potential,” she said.
The First Lady concluded by wishing children across the nation a Happy World Children’s Day.
