The Kano State Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy has made a strong impression at the Nigerian Energy Summit 2025, held in Lagos, reaffirming its commitment to advancing sustainable energy and driving economic growth through innovation.

Leading the delegation, the Commissioner for Power and Renewable Energy,  Dr. Gaddafi Sani Shehu said the summit provided an important platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas and strengthen collaborations toward achieving Nigeria’s clean energy transition.

Dr. Gaddafi emphasized that the state government is committed to reshaping Kano’s energy landscape, noting that several initiatives are underway including the establishment of a regional electricity market in partnership with Katsina and Jigawa States

“The Nigerian Energy Summit 2025 offers an excellent opportunity for us to share our vision for sustainable energy development in Kano State and across Nigeria. We are fully committed to working with stakeholders to achieve our collective energy goals,”

He explained that the summit focuses on promoting economic growth through innovative technologies, and that Kano’s participation aligns with its strategic efforts to attract investment and accelerate renewable energy deployment.

Dr. Gaddafi reiterated the state’s determination to harness renewable resources to boost energy access, support industries, and improve livelihoods across Kano.

“Our participation at this summit reinforces Kano’s leadership in the drive for sustainable and inclusive energy solutions in Northern Nigeria,”
