Retired workers have called on pension administrators to engage directly with unions representing pensioners to clarify issues surrounding unpaid benefits and prevent unnecessary speculation.

The appeal was made by FRCN and NTA Kaduna pensioners following concerns over prolonged delays in settling debts owed to them despite earlier assurances.

They reminded relevant agencies, including PENCOM and PTAD, that many senior citizens are currently facing severe economic hardship, especially following the removal of fuel subsidy.

A retired broadcaster and community leader, Alhaji Ibrahim Fagge, expressed disappointment that the benefits remain unsettled, even after reports that funds had been released for payment.

He stressed the need for authorities to honour their commitments to alleviate the suffering of retired workers and called on the National Assembly to intervene, as it has in similar cases involving protesting pensioners.
