Governor Dauda Lawal has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Muslim community in Zamfara State and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid al-Adha celebration.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal emphasized the deep spiritual significance of the celebration, describing it as one of the most important events in the Islamic calendar.
According to the statement, Eid al-Adha commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) unwavering willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command.
“It is a period that reminds us of the values of faith, selflessness, and our shared responsibility to uphold community and humanity.”
Governor Lawal called on citizens to use the occasion as a moment of reflection on the values of sacrifice and obedience to Allah, and to recommit to unity and social responsibility.
He stressed that, residents must come together as a united front against all forms of social vices, deviant behaviour, and criminality affecting communities.
According to the Governor, It is their collective duty to work for the safety and well-being of people in the state, and the nation.
He concluded by praying for peace, prosperity, and divine blessings.
The Governor prayed to Allah to accept all Muslims’ sacrifices as acts of worship as well as to bless Zamfara State and Nigeria.
