The National Orientation Agency (NOA), Kaduna State Directorate, has commenced a week-long advocacy campaign in schools, worship centres, and communities, engaging relevant stakeholders and community leaders to mark International Children’s Week.
In a statement, the State Director of NOA, Mr. Danjuma Makama, called on parents, guardians, and teachers to recognize and appreciate the immense potential of Nigerian children as the world celebrates Children’s Day.
Mr. Makama emphasizes that the quality of education forms the foundation upon which the future of children is built.
He stressed the need for a collective responsibility to ensure that every child has access to quality education.
Aligning with the theme of this year’s celebration, the NOA Director calls for concerted efforts to create an enabling environment that nurtures the minds, bodies, and spirits of Nigerian children.
He notes that prioritizing children’s well-being, supporting their growth, and protecting their rights are essential to empowering them to become the leaders of tomorrow.
Makama also advises children to remain committed to their studies, avoid examination malpractice, and shun the get-rich-quick syndrome, hookup culture, and drug abuse, among other social vices.
“There is no shortcut to success except through legitimate hard work,” he said. “Nigerian children, as future leaders, should engage in skills acquisition programs alongside their academic pursuits to ensure personal growth and contribute to national development.”
He further encouraged children to never stop learning, exploring, or believing in themselves, assuring them of the agency’s continued support in every step of their journey.
