Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate PTAD has been advised to adopt an open-door policy to ensure effective communication with retired workers regarding their welfare.
Retired staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN gave the advice in Kaduna in response to reports that the Directorate is scheduled to meet this week with the national leadership of the FRCN Pensioners’ Association in Abuja to discuss such matters.
They expressed hope that all lingering issues affecting the welfare of senior citizens would be addressed, particularly the outstanding arrears dating back to the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic.
One of the retirees, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, stressed the need for honesty and transparency in the activities of the Directorate to justify its establishment by the Federal Government.
He also suggested a review of the “I AM ALIVE” screening policy for retirees, which had caused untold hardship to senior citizens who are forced to spend both time and money on the exercise.
