Musa Hussaini Dembo Foundation has upgraded twelve classrooms with modern teaching aids in addition to donation of over two thousand exercise books and other learning items to a Government Secondary School and three primary schools in  Ungwar Fari Kaninkon in Kafanchan, Kaduna State.

National Coordinator of the Foundation Mr. Pele Dembo made this known during the educational outreach program for the official unveiling of the item at GSS Ungwar Fari Kaninkon, in Jema’a Local Government themed ‘Empowering lives, securing future’.

According to the national coordinator, the initiative was to complement government efforts in strengthening teaching and learning under a conducive atmosphere for socio economic growth and development.

He explained that the gesture was also part of the organization’s community support initiative driven by the genuine desire to serve humanity for enhanced educational development and sustainability.

Pele Dembo disclosed that, learning items donated by the Foundation included twelve white boards, cartons of marker and refiller ink, dusters, over two thousand exercise books as well as writing materials and mathematical sets among others.

He said, special gifts and cash support including reward for best performance were given to students and pupils at the three primary schools of Ungwar Fari, Birka, and Shok Communities within Ungwar Fari district to encourage competition and academic excellence.

“Musa Hussaini Dembo Foundation was established in twenty twenty one with a clear focus on empowering windows, orphans and youth, we’ve been doing different outreach programs with other climbs and this year we decided to come back home, inline with the saying that ‘charity begins at home,

“We found out that there are a lot of challenges our people are facing, first was the issue of our secondary schools, we went round and discovered that they were still using the crooked method of writing, which is the black boards, and we decided to change them into the marker boards,

“We were able to get twelve marker boards, because we have twelve classrooms, cartons of markers, and refiller ink, dusters for the white boards, mathematical sets, and over two thousand exercise books distributed to the students and pupils at the secondary and primary schools visited”, explained Engr Pele.

Principal of the school, Mrs. Janet Ango Joseph expressed appreciation and happiness, saying the gesture was the reflection of his passion for education.

“as a school, we’ve been battling with the issue of black boards, but today we have white boards, marker and other gifts presented to us by Musa Hussaini Dembo Foundation, we are very grateful, and this is a testament that the Dembo’s family has passion for education,

“My message to Engr. Musa, please I know we have gotten a lot but I’ll still request because we have so many challenges in the school especially our exams hall where we write our national examination, both Neco and Waec in the state of dilapidation, and we’ve been managing it for some time now,

“I am still pleading that after everything we’ll go round the entire facility for the team to see things for themselves, we have an empty hall, we have a good number of students in the school, but we don’t have chairs, so we are pleading, since this is the beginning, next time we pray that you’ll come to our aid,” the Principal said.

Some of the students including Favor Waje, the head girl of GSS Ungwar Fari, and Jemima Boniface, a primary one pupil at the LEA Primary school Ungwar Fari appreciated the foundation for the items donated, and pleaded for more government and humanitarian interventions to address the myriads of challenges facing their schools.

“For the gifts that was offered to us, we the students really appreciate, and also, we are pleading and want to solicit for our exams hall, because the school exams hall is not well furnished, the building is also collapsing including the furnitures, we don’t have chairs even in our classrooms,

“There are other challenges, especially in terms of fencing the school, because students come to school any time they like and just snick into their classes, we also have guys around that are dangerous, they can just come anytime to the school and harm other students,

“I’m Jemima Boniface, from Primary one, Lea Primary school Ungwar Fari, I want to spell out the problems we have in our school to the world, the school has only three classes making learning to be poor for some of us, no desk for writing, we sit on the floor, some pupils are stationed inside the community for their class activities, we are begging for the government to help us,” the students lamented.

Some of the teachers, Mr. Dam Dave and Mrs. Mrs. Blessing Musa thanked the Foundation for coming to their aid and called on other individuals to emulate him, as they identified some of the issues to include the lack of physical structures like classes, chairs and other facilities for conducive learning and teaching.

“You can imagine the number of times that we’ll trek from this place down to the community to check, and even in the community, the classes are not just in one place, as we move from house to house to monitor our activities,

“it’s not easy for us, because there are five different classes in different houses, and locations in the community, which pose a serious concern to us, and every well thinking citizen,

“Please, we need support, and we want to use this medium to ask for other well meaning Nigerians, and organizations including the government to come to our aid. the head teacher Decried.

The Humanitarian Organization is also calling on governments and corporate organizations, including spirited individuals to invest massively on education in the area to fast track infrastructure upgrades and complement government in remodeling rural schools for effective service delivery.
