No fewer than forty (40) Imams and Scholars in Kwara state have been trained in capacity building to make them self reliant and reduce corruption in the society.

Speaking at the 2-day capacity building organized by Al-Habibiyyah Islamic Society in conjunction with MacArthur Foundation and A John D and Catherine T., the convener, Imam Fuad Adeyemi said the capacity building for Imams and Scholars would enable them work towards ending corruption in the society.

According to him, the seminar would enlightened the Muslim scholars to be alive to their responsibilities of preaching to make the society better.

Imam Adeyemi expressed worry over the dimension corruption is taking, adding that all hands must be on deck to checkmate the spread.

He urged the Imams and scholar to pay attention to every part of the training to equip themselves for the task ahead.

Imam Adeyemi maintained that the training would also encourage transparency and accountability among members of the society.

In his address, former Dean Post Graduate School University of Ilorin, Professor Yusuf Badmus advised the trainees to engaged themselves in proper and legal means of livelihood.

In their separate remarks, the Coordinator, Project Eat-Halal, Dr Rekiya Momoh-Abaji and the Naiba Amirah, FOMWAN, Kwara State chapter, Hajia Balkis Oladimeji, stressed the need for Muslim scholars to synergized and work together as a team for overall benefits.
