Speaking on the occasion of Flagging off of the programme at Medica Center Kalgo, the state governor, Senator Atiku Bagudu, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Babale Umar Yauri, acknowledged the contribution of the foundation which will go a long way towards assisting the less privilege in the state.
He therefore called on other organisations and wealthy individuals in the state to emulate the foundation by supporting the less privilege ones to access medical services particularly the rural communities.
The Governor also called on politicians seeking for any position in the state to emulate the foundation by supporting their people.
The founder of the foundation and wife of the gubernatorial candidate of the APC in Kebbi state, Hajiya Zainab Nasiru Idris, said this was the second phase of the medical outreach by the foundation.
Represented by the board chairman of the foundation, Usman Abubakar, said 1,300 people from across the state that have eye ailments and can not afford treatment would benefit from the free programme.
According to her, the programme is free and therefore urged the beneficiaries to abide by the conditions stipulated to them after the treatment.
The Programme Manager, Tulsi Chanrai Foundation and Hafsat Eye Center, Chandrakant Deshpande, said the treatment would last for four days and they will examine and recommends either surgery, eye glass or tablets to patients.
