House of Representatives has again summoned the Management of the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN and Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, NERC on power purchase agreements with some operators.

The Chairman House Committee on Finance, Mr James Faleke issued the summon at the resumed investigative hearing on the sale of the National Integrated Power Project NIPP, in Abuja.

Mr Faleke also directed the management to submit all the necessary documents that would assist the committee to investigate the transaction.

According to him, Nigerians needed to get value for money spent on Electricity, hence the need to ensure prudence in signing of all agreements on their behalf.

The Executive Director Transmission Service Provider, Mr Victor Adewumi and Market Operator Edmund Eje of TCN, responded to some of the questions raised, to which the committee expressed dissatisfaction.

The Committee is to resume hearing on Tuesday this week with NERC and TCN to be in attendance.
