Federal government has reassured its determination on the timely completion of ongoing road infrastructure in all parts of the nation.

The minister of state works and housing Alhaji Umar El-Yakub stated this during an inspection visit to some of the ongoing roads infrastructure in kano.

He said the administration of President Mohammad Buhari was committed to ensuring that the ongoing Dawakin Tofa, Gwarzo, and Dayi were completed within the stipulated time frame.

He said the Single Road which would be reconstructed into a dual carriageway with a total length of 82.3Km was awarded by the federal government to ease transportation within the axis and enhance the easy movement of farm products from rural areas to market.

” The benefits arising from the implementation of this project are enormous, certainly it reduces traffic, shortens the time of travel and also multiplies economic effects by employing the communities around the corridors of the project”

Alhaji Umar El- Yakub expressed satisfaction with the quality and the level of the Road construction, stressing that the ministry was working assiduously in addressing the challenges contractors were facing especially the issue of compensation and other numerous challenges.

Speaking while inspecting the completed Phase one and two of the National Housing project in Kano, the minister noted that subscribers have already started utilizing the facilities, saying two thousand six hundred and sixty-five houses across the country have been delivered under the scheme at 35 States and Abuja.

” it gladdens my heart to see that this administration has taken the issue of decent accommodation with paramount importance, jobs were being created from this project either direct on indirect which was a catalyst to the development of the economy “

The minister also inspected the ongoing Kano Western bye-pass where he suggested the construction of a flyover than a roundabout from where it crosses Gwarzo Road, aimed at easing traffic congestion.
