More than three hundred and sixty million naira was released for the payment of tuition and registration fees to Sokoto state students in institutions of higher learning in the Republic of Sudan and Istikama University , Sumaila Kano State.

In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Sokoto State Scholarship Board, Alhaji Bello Isah says
the payment is for the 2022/2023 academic session .

According to the statement , the breakdown of the amount released shows that , the sum of N284m was for the payment of the state students attending lectures in the Republic of Sudan while N85.2m was for the transportation and payment of tuition fees of 100 Students in Istiqama University, Sumaila, kano State.

The statement added that the state Government also released the sum of N75.5m for the payment of Sokoto State indigenes pursuing matriculation programme at Usmanu Danfodiyo Unversity sokoto for 2022/2023 academic session.

Its also quoted the permanent Secretary, urging the students to appreciate the state government investment by redoubling efforts in their studies and come back to contribute to the development of the state
after completing their studies.
