Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq says his administration has committed N150m to the construction of 48 modern motorized boreholes and their accessories in Moro and Asa local government areas of the state.

In a statement in Ilorin by the state Commisssioner for Finance, Florence Oyeyemi said the investment complements the ongoing efforts of the administration to make potable water available to residents of the state.

According to her the gesture of the state government has led to the Federal Government offering to construct 20 solar boreholes in Edu and Offa local government areas of the state.

Oyeyemi explained that each of the local governments is expected to get 10 solar boreholes to deepen public access to water.

She noted that the state government was committed to steadily meet the residents water needs in phases as resources permit.

Oyeyemi maintained that the state governments spending on water aligns with the administrations ongoing investments in Partnership for Expanded Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (PEWASH) as well as Open Defecation Free (ODF) campaign.
