The Governor of Taraba State Darius Ishaku flagged off the construction of 35km Pamanga-Dakka road in the Bali local government area of the State.

Speaking at the occasion in Pamanga, Governor Ishaku said the project was part of the present administration’s desire to ensure infrastructural revolution, especially in urban and rural areas road constructions to boost local agricultural production and enhance revenue generation in the state.

The Governor explained that the project was key to his administration based on the agricultural economic interest that would be generated when completed.

He noted that the road when completed would improve the living standard of the people in the area and boost the entire state’s economic value, especially in the local agricultural production.

He further revealed that Late. Chief M.K.O Abiola wanted to construct the road in 1957 because it leads to his farm but the government then did not put effort of interest.

“Aside from the economic growth that this road would create for Taraba state, it would also relieve the plight that people in this area have gone through since 1942’’.

The Governor informed that the road is already 60 percent completed, and assured that the project would be completed and commissioned by December 2022.

Earlier in a remark, the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Irimiya Hamman Julde commended the governor for the project, saying that his administration has opened up urban and rural roads in the state.

On his part, the Project Chief Engineer, GELD Construction Company, Mr. Azzam Fabi expressed confidence that the project would be delivered at the stipulated time, adding that his company has done 21km out of the 35 total km of the road.
