Kebbi State Government has approved over 3.2billion Naira for the construction of access roads and drainages in the state capital.

The roads project are at Bayan Oando and Tipper Garrage areas of Birnin Kebbi metropolis at the cost of over One Billion, Five Hundred Million Naira.

Others are construction of Unguwan Zabarmawa Area of Birnin Kebbi road at the cost of Over One Billion, One Hundred and Forty Six Million Naira and Behind Old CID Office road, Malluwa and Rafin Atiku Areas at the cost of Five Hundred and Forty Million, Nine Hundred and Twenty Three Thousand Naira.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muazu Abubakar Dakingari, says the scope of work include, Site clearance, earth work, provision of sub-base, prime coat and asphalt, construction of culverts and drainages, stone pitching work, as well as the payment of compensation.

It is pertinent to state that, these areas are annually flooded and not motorable during rainy season.

The statement adds that, the road construction is to fast track the socio economic development of the state.
