Bandits have unleashed separate attacks on residence of Illela and Goronyo local government areas of Sokoto state killing 15 people.
The bandits were said to be a notorious group operating in the Eastern axis of the state.
Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has condoled with families and people of the affected communities over the sad incidents.
The Governor further sought residents and other stakeholders support by cooperating with security agencies in the fight against banditry and other criminal acts in the state.
In a related development, gunmen have attacked and killed a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC at Gidan Igwai community in Sokoto North local government area.
An eye witness said the gunmen stormed the area and carted away undisclosed amount of money and valuables belonging to residents of the area which led to the killing of the NSCDC personnel.
