Kano State House of Assembly Passes Standing Rules

Kano State House of Assembly has passed the proposed standing rules 2021 of the State House.

This followed a motion during a plenary presided over by the Speaker Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari, deliberated by the lawmakers.

Addressing Assembly Correspondents after the plenary the House Majority, leader Alhaji Labaran Abdul Madari, said the standing rules are expected to be reviewed after every four years.

The House Leader explained that the timely review of the rules was to pave way for easy administration of the House as well as mapping out responsilities of all the principal officers and members.

In another development, the House had recieved a letter from the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) seeking its approval to appoint Education Secretaries across 44 local government areas of the State.

Reading the letter on the floor of the House, the Speaker, Alhaji Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari explained that the curriculum vitae of all the nominees have been submitted to the House for proper scrutiny.

After deliberation, the House referred the matter to its committee on SUBEB as well as local government and chieftency affairs to screen the nominees and submit it’s report within two weeks.
