Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Joint Border Patrol Team (JBPT) for the North Central zone, Sector 3, has intercepted and seized 82 different items with a duty paid value of N92,547,752 Million naira from April till date.

Addressing newsmen during the parade of seized items by the Sector in Ilorin the Kwara state capital, the co-ordinator, Comptroller Olugboyega Peters, said that smugglers have continued to advance with their techniques of smuggling.

According to him, the team has seized 39,000 liters of diesel packaged in 60 liters each concealed with saw dust in polythene sacks in Kogi state.

Comptroller Peters said other items seized include,1,735 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50 kg each, 1,415 Jeri cans of 25 liters of petroleum products, 33 used vehicles, 12 bales of worn clothing, and 10 motorcycles.

He warned criminal elements operating in the Sector to shun the act and look for better means of livelihood.

The coordinator explained that any method, scheme or tactics adopted by the smugglers would be uncovered.

Comptroller Peters noted that the sector is more determined than ever to make the area uncomfortable for smugglers.
