Funeral prayers were on Monday held at the Aliyu Mustapha International Airport, Yola, for a Taraba State pilgrim, Hajiya Dado Hammadu, who died after a brief illness.

Hajiya Dado, from Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, was among the 415 pilgrims scheduled to be airlifted in the first batch for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage on Monday, May 11, 2026.

This was contained in a statement issued to newsmen by the Assistant Director of Information, Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Hamza Baba Muri.

The funeral prayer was attended by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Muslim Pilgrims Affairs, Alhaji Hamman’Adama Tukur; Chairman of the Airport Committee, Malam Jamal Abdul’nasir; staff of the Taraba State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board; and hundreds of intending pilgrims billed for the inaugural flight.

The Board condoled with the family of the deceased and prayed for Almighty Allah to grant her Aljannatul Firdaus.
